John Hockin
Managing Partner and CIO
Since 2005, John has led public equity investing efforts at KKR, Golden Gate Capital and J.H. Whitney after spending the first ten years of his career leading private equity investments. In his most recent role as Head of Public Equities at KKR, John successfully executed on public investments in excess of $5 billion. John received his MBA from Stanford and B.A. in Economics from Yale, where he played varsity hockey. During college, he founded and sold a hat company called J&J Lids.
Arthur Baptist
Partner
Prior to founding SCP, Arthur was a Vice President at Golden Gate Capital (GGC), where he helped lead the firm’s public equity investing efforts. Prior to GGC, he was at The Gores Group, a Los Angeles based private equity fund, and before that was at J.P. Morgan in investment banking. Arthur received a B.A. in Economics from The University of Chicago where he was captain of the varsity track and cross country teams.
Matt Louis
Partner
Prior to founding SCP, Matt was a Director at KKR, where he worked closely with John in leading the Americas public equities business. Prior to KKR, Matt focused on TMT private equity at GTCR, an upper middle-market private equity fund. He began his career at Merrill Lynch in the firm’s M&A group. Matt received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University.
Niki Webster
Partner, COO and Investor Relations
Prior to founding SCP, Niki was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs where she led the firm’s West Coast Capital Introduction efforts. Prior to Goldman, Niki worked for UBS’ Prime Brokerage division in London, San Francisco, and Sydney. Niki began her career at Financial Risk Management (FRM), now part of Man Group. Niki received a M.A. (Oxon) in Economics and Management Studies from the University of Oxford where she was Captain of St Hilda’s College Boat Club.
